Ms. Daun Yorke, the consultant for the I n t e r n a t i o n a l Baccalaureate Program visited Stonyhurst Southville international School last January 26-27, 2017.
In her visit, Ms. Daun talked to the heads and the prospective IB teachers, surveyed the school facilities, and looked into some of the school records that show the school’s readiness to offer the program.
During the consultation, Ms. Daun discussed the framework of the International Baccalaureate, the demands of the program, as well as the advantages for the students. She also offered suggestions on how to fast-track its implementation.
The IB consultant was impressed with the student achievements and the competency of the teachers. She was also delighted with the school’s enthusiasm to pursue its IB World Certification and the Principal and the teachers’ adequate preparations. When her visit was concluded, she can see the possibility that the program can be opened in the next academic year if the certification visit will push through to July.
